The joys of the hunt are different for all that participate. Common to all, though, is the joy and peace found while walking through the forest on an autumn day. The Hunter portrays a man, with rifle in hand, over his shoulder, for whom the spirit of the hunt is just that. His passage is assured as he meets the alert stag with respect. The Hunter has a buck deer as a companion piece (not pictured).
